The MRIC needs your help in order to continue to play a vital role in improving the health and lives of children. Philanthropic gifts from donors like the MRIC and each of you are viewed as important partnerships by external funding agencies like the National Institutes of Health. Our support is critical in enabling Children’s Memorial to remain competitive in securing external funding necessary to become one of the country’s leading pediatric research centers.
Children’s Memorial Hospital is a non-profit organization and all gifts to the MRIC are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. All gifts will be recognized with a donor recognition letter.

Annual Giving
Annual Giving to the MRIC campaign is critical to our ability to continue to fund innovative pediatric medical research that will benefit countless children. It is also critical in enabling Children’s Memorial to remain competitive in securing external funding necessary to become one of the country’s leading pediatric research centers. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated. Gifts of $1,000 or more will be recognized in the program book for the Children’s Ball.

Children’s Circle of Care
By making a gift of $10,000 or more in a calendar year, you will automatically become a member of the Children’s Circle of Care, an organization made up of 22 of North America’s most prestigious children’s hospitals, including Children’s Memorial Hospital. The Children’s Circle of Care mission is to advance philanthropy that supports patient care, research and advocacy through educating and recognizing leading benefactors of children’s hospitals.
Members are dedicated men and women who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the unique mission of Children’s Memorial. Their leadership, their willingness to invest in the future, and their inspiration underlie the spirit of Children’s Circle of Care. Each year Children’s Circle of Care members from throughout North America come together at the National Leadership Conference to learn the latest about children’s health care from premier pediatricians and scientists, and to meet peers from across the continent that share their commitment.
Children’s Memorial Hospital also hosts Children’s Circle of Care events for its local members to see firsthand the unique care and cutting-edge research taking place at the hospital and at the Children’s Memorial Research Center.

Children’s Ball
The annual Children’s Ball held each December is the culmination and celebration of each year’s MRIC fundraising campaign. Support of the ball is a high profile way of supporting the important work of the MRIC. Table prices start at $8,000 and individual ticket prices start at $800. If you “pre-purchase” your ball table(s) by mid-August each year, you will receive a listing in the Children’s Ball invitations and Program Book.

Advertising Campaign
The Children’s Ball Commemorative program book serves as a photo journal of the year’s fundraising efforts and recognizes special friends who participate in the MRIC philanthropic mission. Each year, the program book is seen by more than 1,200 influential individuals from throughout the Chicago area who attend the Children’s Ball. Advertisements range in price from $150 for a small naming opportunity to $3,000 for a premiere placement, full-page advertisement.

Tribute Gifts and Notecards
A tribute gift to Children’s Memorial through the MRIC is a unique way to celebrate life’s milestones. Whether to recognize or honor someone, to mark a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, anniversary or graduation, or to express sympathy on the passing of a loved one, a tribute gift is a thoughtful way to honor individuals who have touched and inspired you.
Tribute gifts support the programs and services at Children’s Memorial that are making a difference in the lives of countless children and their families who have turned to the hospital for comfort, care and healing. Tribute gifts can be made in any amount. Gifts made through the MRIC will be used to support the MRIC’s current commitments to research programs at the hospital.
When you make a gift to the Tribute Program, the family or individual whom you are honoring will be notified of your thoughtfulness through a personalized acknowledgement card.

The MRIC also offers pre-printed tribute notecards featuring a drawing created by Children’s Memorial patients. The cards are available in packages of eight for $75. These cards are great to keep on hand to send personalized notes for special occasions.
